Kitten with many extra beans like his cat mother figures out how to jump and climb like a champ

A kitten with numerous toe beans, like his cat mother, has mastered the art of jumping and climbing.

Sarasota the cat and her sole baby kitten Summer were taken to a Los Angeles animal shelter.

The kitten inherited his mother’s (a polydactyly) additional toes on both front and rear paws.

Staff immediately noted Summer’s rear legs were spread out to the sides due to a congenital abnormality known as Swimmer’s Syndrome.

They turned to a Cat Rescue for help, since they had previous experience with kittens like Summer.

The Cat Rescue took them in and started regular massages and stretching exercises for the little cat.

When Summer arrived, he couldn’t move on his hind legs, but he tried his hardest to push himself forward.

Mother Sarasota was always close, keeping an eye on and encouraging her baby as he worked on strengthening his hind limbs.

The loving cat mom instantly felt at ease with her foster family.

As though she knew they were in capable hands.

Every time they entered the room, she would greet them by rubbing their legs.

Summer made incredible progress in just a few days, and she was able to stand on all fours, balance, and even walk a bit.

Every day, he felt stronger and lighter on his feet.

Mama Sarasota began pushing Summer to go about more by guiding him when he established his walk and stride.

She would approach her foster mother for attention, and Summer would do the same.

The cat enjoyed watching his mother and trying to imitate her every action.
