Grandmother mistaking her grandson’s number accidentally invited a stranger to dinner

This story, worthy of being part of world cinema, began in 2016.

Wanda Dench, a resident of the city of Mesa in Arizona, completely changed her life that day.

And someone else too!

The fact is that on Thanksgiving Day, a very important holiday for Americans, a woman sent an invitation message to a phone number.

As she thought, the number belonged to her grandson. But a complete stranger received the message.

That man was Jamal Hinton.

Mr. Hinton did not understand who was writing to him, so he asked who he had received the invitation from.

After a short correspondence, the error became clear. But the young man was not embarrassed and asked.

He was welcomed by his new grandmother, as well as her husband, Lonnie.

Hinton and the Dench family had a great vacation together.

He was afraid that due to the age difference it would be difficult for him to establish contact with the couple, but they got along so well that Denchi now considers Jamal as their true grandson.

Since 2016, Jamal has had a close bond with his “host” family and celebrates every Thanksgiving with them.

But in 2020, tragedy struck. Lonnie died of complications from the coronavirus.

At that time, Jamal mainly spent many days with Wanda: she was very upset by the loss of a loved one, the support of Jamal and his girlfriend Mikaella was particularly important to her then.

New Thanksgiving was celebrated as before, only now Lonnie smiled happily at the portrait.

The story of Wanda and Jamal’s acquaintance has been repeatedly portrayed in foreign media.

But recently things have gone a step further, with streaming service Netflix announcing that it will be making a movie based on these incredible events. All that remains is to wait!
