The dog saves the life of its owner by lying on him for 20 hours: He was in the snow

Golden Retriever Kelsey heard his cries and prevented him from developing physiological condition and injury by lying on top of him and licking his hands and face.

A man who broke his neck after slipping and falling in freezing conditions has been rescued by his dog after no one heard his cries for help.

Bob, who did not want to give his last name, was at home in Michigan, USA, on New Year’s Eve.

When he realized he needed more wood to maintain the temperature.

Dressed in his slippers and pajamas, he got out but slipped on the icy ground and hit his neck – he is lying in the snow.

He screamed for help, but no one heard him, as his nearest neighbors live about a quarter of a mile away.

And it was late in the evening.

However, his canine companion Kelsey heard his screams and ran to keep him warm for nearly 20 hours, according to the news.

Overnight, when temperatures dropped to -4C.

Her owner lost her voice, and eventually her consciousness, in the morning.

But Kelsey kept barking for help until she arrived when a neighbor heard her.

One of Bob’s neighbors eventually found him, after hearing Kelsey’s barking, and called emergency services.

He was taken to McLaren Hospital in northern Michigan.

But by the time he arrived, he had developed symptoms of hypothermia.

Doctors said Bob’s core body temperature was low and below 20C when they started treating him.

Dr. Chaim Colen, the neurosurgeon treating Bob, performed a procedure and was also “surprised” that he didn’t endure any frostbite.

His operation was a success, but Dr Colen said he would still have to undergo hours of physiotherapy to recover fully.
