These two former conjoined twins are seeing each other for the first time

These kids look like they’re about to have a big fight, but in reality it’s a misleading impression.

In fact, the truth is far more inspiring.

Jadon and Anias McDonald are two twins who were connected at the top of their heads and had never seen each other.

But in October, the two 13-month-old boys were successfully separated at Montefiore Hospital, Hove, UK, during a life-threatening 27-hour surgery.

The photograph above shows the first time they saw each other.

The little guys were transferred to a rehabilitation center shortly after Thanksgiving (November 24), six weeks after surgery.

Thus, that made it the fastest recovery ever seen after the separation of cranipopagus twins (connected by head), the previous record was eight weeks.

About 40 percent of twins connected at the head are stillborn. And one-third of those born die within 24 hours of birth.

Even if they survive, they still have an 80 percent chance of dying before they reach the age of two, if they are not separated by surgery.

Jadon is doing well, but for Nicole, the mother, couldn’t hold Anias, as his recovery was slower than his brother’s.

And he still had to breathe through a tube.

Things are looking promising for him now, though, and luckily he is recovering fast.
