A 3-year-old girl who was lost for 11 days in the Northern desert and is found alive thanks to her dog

Kate Smith had taken refuge in a field of tall grass after venturing away from her home.

Trying to follow, it seems, his father (Rodion) who had absented himself to go to his native village on July 29.

Her mother had first thought that the little girl, accompanied by her dog, had left with her dad.

And as it was impossible for her to be sure, due to a problem with the telephone network in this remote part of Geographic area, she will notice it only after four days when the research was launched.

The three-year-old, seven-month-old girl survived by eating wild berries and drinking water from a river in a land populated by bears and wolves.

The little one made a bed in the grasses, so characteristic of the south-west of Sakha in summer.

Which made futile the searches carried out by helicopters and drones to find her in the taiga infested with bears.

Initially, his family and rescue workers were shot when the dog, which was not named despite his heroic deed, found the child’s village, Olom.

“Two days before finding Karina, her puppy came home,” said Ted Anders, spokesman for the rescue team in the Sakha Republic.

This is where our hearts sank, since with her dog by her side, Kate had at least a chance of getting out of it.

The nights there are cold, and in some areas the temperature drops below zero.

Kate is now in hospital near the city, where nurses are making sure she regains her strength.

She has no serious injuries like broken bones, just scratches, especially on her feet from walking for a long time without shoes, and insect bites.
