When Daniel told his wife that he had been urgently sent on a week-long business trip, Emma simply nodded and helped him pack his suitcase. He assured her that he would be extremely busy with work and would barely have time to call. Before leaving, he even hugged the children, kissed his mother, and told his wife that he hoped to return home soon.
But there was no business trip.
Just a few hours after his plane took off, Daniel was already relaxing beside the swimming pool at a luxurious resort with his young mistress. They laughed, took pictures, ordered expensive drinks, and enjoyed their vacation, while back home, Emma was left alone caring for their two young children and his seriously ill mother, who could barely move without assistance.
From the outside, it seemed that Emma suspected nothing.
Every evening, she calmly replied to his messages, wished him a productive day at work, and even asked whether he was too tired. Daniel was certain that his wife still believed every word he said.
There was only one thing he didn’t know.
Emma had known about his affair for a long time.
One day, she had accidentally seen a photograph of her husband with an unfamiliar woman. After that, she gradually gathered all the other evidence.
Instead of causing a scandal, she decided to wait. She understood that revenge would be most effective when he least expected it.
That was why, when Daniel flew off to the resort, Emma didn’t shed a single tear.
She simply began carrying out her plan.
A few days later, Daniel and his mistress were floating on inflatable pool mattresses in a huge swimming pool. The sun was shining, tourists were relaxing all around them, music was playing, and it seemed that nothing could possibly ruin their vacation.
Suddenly, a small drone appeared above the pool.
At first, nobody paid much attention to it. Many assumed that the resort staff were filming a beautiful promotional video.

His mistress laughed.
“It’s probably a gift from the hotel.”
Daniel smiled too, caught the box, and placed it beside him.
He wanted to open it immediately but decided to swim calmly to the edge of the pool first.
The box remained untouched beside their sun loungers for the rest of the day.
They made plans for the evening, talked about going to an expensive restaurant, and completely forgot about the mysterious package.

Inside was a thick stack of photographs.
The first pictures showed his mistress.
But she wasn’t with him.
She was hugging an unfamiliar man, kissing him, holding his hand at a restaurant, leaving a hotel with him, and smiling exactly the same way she smiled at Daniel.
His mistress instantly turned pale.
She began rapidly flipping through the photographs, desperately trying to come up with some kind of explanation.
Daniel stared silently at the pictures, unable to believe his eyes.
At the very bottom of the box was a folded sheet of paper.
He slowly unfolded it.
There were only a few lines written on it.
“While you were enjoying your vacation and lying to your family, I wasn’t wasting my time either. The house has already been sold. I used the money to take the children on vacation. I’ve arranged for your mother to stay in a good nursing home, where professionals now take care of her around the clock. You have nothing left.”
Below the message was a signature.
Emma.
Daniel felt his hands begin to tremble.
He immediately tried calling his wife.
Her phone was switched off.
He opened his banking app.
There was almost no money left in his accounts.
Then he called the real estate agent.
The agent calmly confirmed that the sale of the house had been completed several days earlier because his wife had acted under a power of attorney that Daniel himself had once signed without even reading the documents.
He slowly raised his head and looked at his mistress.
She wasn’t even trying to make excuses anymore.
She simply said quietly:
“I never thought it would end like this…”
Daniel wanted to say something, but at that moment, he realized that he had no one left by his side.
His mistress silently picked up her handbag, turned around, and walked away.
She understood perfectly well that a man who had lost his house, his family, his money, and the trust of his own children in a single day was of no use to her anymore.
