A plumber was called out to a country house to fix a leaking faucet, but inside the house he noticed a photo of himself in a black frame on the wall. 😨😨

Alex, a plumber with considerable experience, went out that day on an urgent call. An elderly man had called, saying that a faucet was leaking in the bathroom of the country house. He gave the address — a house in an upscale neighborhood thirty kilometers from the city. Nothing suspicious, a routine job.

Arriving, Alex was surprised: the house clearly hadn’t been lived in for a long time — peeling plaster, weeds, an old mailbox with a rusty door. But when he rang the bell, an elderly woman answered. She looked confused, almost tense.

“The faucet is upstairs, on the second floor. Please come in.”

Alex climbed the creaky stairs and found himself in a long hallway with portraits on the walls. He stopped — and a chill ran through him.

On the wall, among many old photographs, he saw his face. Or rather, a face incredibly similar to his. A black-and-white photo in a mourning black frame.

Alex stared at the photo — the same expression, the same nose shape, the eyes, even the jawline. He almost mechanically went to the bathroom, but his hands trembled. After the repair, he dared to ask.

“Excuse me, a silly question. Who is the person in the photo on the staircase? He looks very much like me.”

The woman froze for a second, then turned pale at what she saw. 😲😲 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

“That was my brother. Valentin. He died in a car accident 15 years ago.” She thought for a moment. “Strange, you really do look alike. Even the voice is a bit similar.”

Alex nodded, something stabbed him in the chest.

“Are you sure he was your brother… by blood?”

The woman frowned.

“Yes. But… you know, our father always said that the brother was taken by mistake from the hospital — there was some confusion with the records. Later everything was sorted out, but sometimes he said it jokingly, sometimes seriously. We never knew if it was true or not.”
