A young man, standing near the grave, suddenly stepped back in fear, superstitious, thinking that Shayās spirit had returned to life.
Even after his death, Shay was able to bring some lightness to the atmosphere, making his loved ones laugh when they were at their lowest. Shay Bradley, a veteran of the Irish Defense Forces, had passed away after battling a long illness.
The comedian and soldier believed that his family and friends deserved comfort after enduring such hardship.
And it could begin with a burst of laughter, even in the darkest times of sadness.
Bradley was buried in Kilmanagh, Kilkenny, Ireland. At his funeral, a pre-recorded message of his voice was heard from within the coffin: “Hello, hello, let me out!” A smile immediately appeared on the faces of the mourners.
Everyone knew that their prankster friend had surprised them once again. “Damn, where am I? Let me out, let me out. Itās really dark in here. Is that the priest I hear? Itās Shay, Iām in the box. Yes, in front of you. Iām dead.” He ended the joke by starting to sing a traditional Irish song: “Hello again, hello. Hello, I just called to say goodbye.”
