Four bikers ordered food at a small roadside diner and left without paying because they decided that the poor elderly owner would not be able to do anything to them. But those men could not even imagine who they had really messed with 😳
That day, it was so hot that the asphalt by the road seemed to literally shimmer in the scorching air.
The small roadside café was almost empty. A few customers sat at plastic tables, while an elderly woman named Maria stood near the open kitchen.
She was almost seventy years old.
She cooked the soup herself, fried the meat, washed the dishes, and served the customers. She had no helpers, so she was constantly moving back and forth between the stove and the tables.
Around lunchtime, four large motorcycles stopped outside the café.
Strong men in leather vests got off them.
They walked under the awning, took the biggest table, and loudly called out to the owner.
— Hey, grandma, what do you have to eat?
Maria calmly walked over to them and listed what was on the menu.
The men ordered four large portions of soup, meat, flatbread, several appetizers, and cold drinks.
It was quite a large order, but Maria said nothing and immediately went to cook.
About twenty minutes later, she began bringing out the food.
First, she placed hot soup in front of the men, then brought the meat and everything else.
The bikers ate with great appetite.
— The old woman cooks pretty well, — one of them said quietly.
— Actually, very well, — another replied.
While they were eating, the men began looking around carefully.
One of them noticed that there were no other workers in the café besides Maria.
— Is she here alone? — he asked his friends.
The other shrugged.
— Looks like it.
They looked at the elderly woman, who at that moment was slowly carrying dirty dishes back to the kitchen.
— What if we just don’t pay at all? — one of the men suddenly said with a smirk.
The others looked at him for a moment, then burst out laughing.
— And what is she going to do to us?
— Run after the motorcycles?
They quickly agreed. When the plates were empty, the men calmly got up from the table and headed toward their motorcycles. Maria noticed almost immediately.
— Wait! — she shouted. — You haven’t paid yet!
But the men did not even stop. Maria came out of the café and went after them.
— Young men, please come back! You have to pay for the food!
One of the bikers was already sitting on his motorcycle and laughed.
— Just consider it your treat today.
The others laughed too.
— Thanks for lunch, grandma.
The arrogant men thought they had cheated a poor old woman, but they could not even imagine who they had really messed with or what was going to happen to them very soon 😲😰 The rest of the story can be found in the first comment 👇👇
A few seconds later, the motorcycles roared onto the road. Maria stood outside the café for a while longer.
She did not scream and did not try to run after them. The woman simply watched the motorcycles disappear into the distance.
Then she calmly took her phone out of her pocket and called someone.
— Hello, son.
He answered immediately on the other end.
— Mom, what happened?
Maria was silent for a moment.
— Nothing serious. It’s just that four men ate at my place today and decided not to pay.
After those words, the man’s voice changed immediately.
— Did they hurt you?
— No.
— Did they yell at you?
— No, they just laughed and drove away.
Her son asked what the men looked like and what motorcycles they were riding.
Maria told him everything she could remember.
She even told him which direction they had gone.
After ending the call, the woman returned to the kitchen and continued washing dishes as if nothing had happened.
About twenty minutes later, the four bikers were already sitting near a small gas station a few kilometers from the café.
They were laughing and talking about the old woman.
— Did you see her face?
— She really thought we would come back and pay.
But at that moment, two black SUVs pulled into the gas station.
Several strong men wearing identical dark shirts got out of the vehicles.
The bikers immediately stopped laughing.
One of the men walked closer.
— Which one of you was just at Maria’s café?
Silence fell.
— And what’s it to you? — one of the bikers finally asked.
The man looked at him very calmly.
— A lot.
Only then did one of the bikers notice a familiar logo on the door of the SUV. He suddenly turned pale. It turned out that Maria’s son was the owner of one of the largest security companies in the region.
Dozens of former military men and professional security guards worked for him. And his mother’s small café did not bring the family any serious income at all.
Maria kept it open only because she loved cooking and did not want to sit at home doing nothing. Her son had offered many times to close the café or hire workers for her, but she always refused.
— I like feeding people myself, — she would say.
The man standing near the SUV took out his phone.
— Your bill came to one hundred and eighty-seven dollars.
— We’ll go back right now and pay, — one of the bikers said quickly.
— No need.
The security guard held out his hand.
— Pay here.
The men quickly took out the money.
One of them even tried to give more.
— This is for the trouble.
The security guard shook his head.
— No. Only what you owe.
A few minutes later, one of the employees returned to the café and placed the money in front of Maria.
— Mom, they paid everything.
The woman counted the bills and frowned.
— You didn’t hit them, did you?
The man smiled.
— No.
— Are you sure?
— I’m sure.
Maria let out a relieved sigh.
— Good. Because you shouldn’t beat people over a few bowls of soup.
After that, she put the money into an old tin box under the cash register and went back to the stove. And the four bikers never again tried to leave a roadside café without paying their bill.
