Born in Lausanne in 1940, Jocelyn Wildenstein grew up in a middle-class family. She began socializing with Alec Wildenstein, a member of a very wealthy art-collecting family with an extensive art collection.
The couple met in 1977 while Jocelyn was dating another wealthy man. Alec actively won her heart, and they married shortly after.
