Give Your Plastic Bottles a New Life

With a bit of creativity, you can turn ordinary plastic bottles into a stunning hanging decoration for your garden or home. Here’s how to create a unique hanging planter that will add a touch of elegance to your space.

Preparing the Bottles

Start by removing the labels and thoroughly cleaning the bottles. Then, cut off the top part of a 1.5-liter bottle, including the neck. To avoid sharp edges, carefully smooth them by briefly pressing them against a hot iron.

Assembling the Structure

Take 13 bottle necks and attach them together in a circle using a stapler.

Create a ring using thick wire and secure its ends with thinner wire. Then, fasten this ring to the bottle necks with zip ties.

Gradually add more bottle necks to form a semi-spherical structure. To strengthen the entire setup, use additional wire rings. It’s crucial to stabilize the structure by securing the interior with wire loops.

Customization and Finishing Touches

Now comes the fun part—decorating! Spray-paint your hanging planter in a color of your choice. Once dry, apply a protective varnish to enhance durability.

To hang it up, attach three pieces of rope to the upper ring using zip ties.

Screw the caps back onto the bottles and insert half of a perforated trash bag inside to allow for proper drainage. Then, fill the planter with nutrient-rich soil.

Installation and Planting

Hang your planter in a well-lit spot, plant some flowers, and water them regularly. This type of hanging planter works especially well for voluminous flowers like petunias, adding a vibrant and natural touch to your space.

With this clever technique, your plastic bottles can be transformed into a stylish and unique decoration for your garden or home!
