Joan Van Ark, once one of the biggest stars of TV soap operas, was spotted in Los Angeles after more than three years out of the public eye.
She was seen getting in and out of her car, removing her blue mask, and heading out alone in the sunshine. At one point, she accidentally dropped some coins while feeding a parking meter.
Joan Van Ark is best known for her role as Valene Ewing, which she portrayed in the series Dallas starting in 1978 before joining the spin-off Knots Landing in 1979. Her character was married three times to Gary Ewing, played by Ted Shackelford.
Her career, which began over 55 years ago, led her to appear in films and series like Frogs (1972), My First Love (1988), and Shakedown on the Sunset Strip (1988), but it was her role in Knots Landing that made her internationally famous, where she appeared in 327 episodes over 14 years.
Today, Joan lives a private and peaceful life in Los Angeles, alongside her husband, award-winning journalist John Marshall, with whom she has been married for over 56 years. Although she is more discreet, she remains involved in the Hollywood community.
