😲 😲 I was planning to throw away this chair, so damaged and having been with us for nearly 20 years.😲 😲  But my daughter wouldn’t even let me get rid of it, 😲 😲 assuring me she would turn it into a beautiful piece of furniture. Look for yourself at what she’s done with it and share your thoughts on her work. šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

A few weeks ago, our neighborhood had a bulky waste collection. Generally, people throw away green waste, old appliances, outdated televisions, and broken items.

However, we were surprised to find an old wooden chair in a colonial/country style, very popular in the 90s. It’s still structurally in good condition, but it has a few scratches and splashes of paint.

We decided to give it a second life by repainting it.

It’s so rewarding to be able to rescue discarded items and turn them into something beautiful – this is truly recycling at its best! The hardest part was deciding on the color. After much thought, we chose a bright red. This color will give the chair a stunning look and make it a great accessory for our photos.

If you’re looking for a piece of furniture to restore, keep an eye out during bulky waste collections in your neighborhood. You might even have something at home that just needs a renovation.

To give the chair a new life, we first used fine sandpaper to carefully sand the entire surface. This removed the gloss of the previous paint and any stains.

Next, we cleaned the chair with a damp cloth to remove all the dust and accumulated dirt. Finally, we applied a coat of White Knight Rust Guard All Purpose Primer. What we really like about this primer is that it combines both a base coat and an undercoat in one application. Its spray formula makes it incredibly easy to use.
