That day, I turned sixty, and for the first time in many years, I decided to throw a big celebration.
I had booked a nice restaurant in advance and invited relatives, old friends, neighbors, and several former colleagues. I simply wanted to spend that day surrounded by the people I love, so I didn’t try to save money on either the food or the music.
