At 22, Sofia married a man who was almost forty years older than her. Every night before going to sleep, she took a strong sleeping pill, until one day a hidden camera showed her what was really happening in the bedroom while she slept 😨
At twenty-two, Sofia was not thinking about the same things her friends dreamed of. While they were building relationships, traveling, and choosing new clothes, she was trying to figure out how to save her family from debt.
After her father’s death, there were loans left behind, her mother could barely work because of ongoing health problems, and her younger brother was preparing to enter university. There was barely enough money for basic expenses.
That was when Sofia met Richard.
He was 61 years old. He owned several construction companies, lived alone in a huge house, and had not been seriously involved with anyone for more than ten years after his first wife died.
Richard immediately began courting Sofia. He did not hide his intentions, and a few months later he asked her to marry him.
When their acquaintances found out, everyone came to the same conclusion.
— Of course, she wants his money.
Sofia herself understood how it all looked from the outside. But the worst part was that those people were almost right.
Before the wedding, she asked Richard to speak with her privately.
— I have to tell you the truth. I respect you, but I don’t love you. If we get married, I don’t want you to demand feelings from me that I don’t have.
She expected him to get angry, but he answered calmly:
— I understand.
Then Sofia confessed something else.
Because of anxiety, she barely slept and had been taking sleeping pills prescribed by her doctor for several months. She planned to continue taking them after the wedding.
Richard did not argue. A week later, they got married.
After the wedding, Sofia’s life really changed. Her family’s debts were paid off, her brother received money for his education, and her mother was no longer afraid of losing the house.
But the marriage itself was strange. Every evening at around eleven, Sofia took a pill, lay down on a separate side of the huge bed, and fell asleep twenty minutes later.
Richard never demanded intimacy and generally treated her very carefully.
This continued for almost three weeks. Then Sofia began to notice strange things.
Sometimes, in the middle of the night, she felt as though someone was walking near the bed. Several times, as if through her sleep, she heard Richard’s voice.
In the morning, she asked him:
— Did you talk to me during the night?
— You dreamed it, the man replied.
But one day Sofia woke up at around four in the morning and found her pillow on the floor, while her hair was wet with sweat.
She remembered nothing.
The next night, something even stranger happened.
In the morning, Sofia felt as if she had not slept at all. Her muscles hurt, her heart was beating too fast, and the sheet beneath her was damp.
— What is happening to me?
Richard was no longer in the room. That was when Sofia became truly frightened. All day, she thought about only one thing: what was happening at night while the pills made her sleep deeply?
That evening, she bought a small camera and hid it on a bookshelf opposite the bed.
She did not tell her husband anything. That night, Sofia did everything as usual: she took the pill, lay down, and turned off the light.
In the morning, she immediately grabbed her phone and opened the recording. Nothing happened during the first two hours. But at 2:47 a.m., something suddenly began happening that left the young woman frozen in terror 😨😳 You can find the continuation of the story in the first comment 👇👇
But at 2:47 a.m., Sofia suddenly sat up in bed. She zoomed in on the image. Her eyes were open.
A few seconds later, Richard entered the bedroom. Sofia froze. In the recording, the man approached the bed but did not even touch her.
— Sofia, wake up. Look at me.
But she seemed not to hear him. She got up and walked toward the door. Richard rushed after her. For almost three minutes, the camera showed nothing else. Then the door opened again.
Richard was practically carrying Sofia in his arms. She was soaking wet from head to toe, and he was breathing heavily.
He laid her on the bed, dried her face and hair with a towel, checked her pulse, and sat beside her almost until morning.
Sofia watched the recording several times, unable to understand anything.
When Richard returned, she placed the phone in front of him.
— Where did I go?
The man remained silent for a long time. Then he confessed.
During the first week after the wedding, Sofia had started sleepwalking.
At first, she would simply get up and wander around the room. Then she began walking out into the hallway. A few nights earlier, Richard had found her near the stairs.
But the night before, the worst thing had happened.
While sleepwalking, Sofia went down to the first floor, opened the door to the yard, and walked straight to the swimming pool.
She stepped into the water without waking up.
That was why her clothes and bed were wet in the morning.
Richard managed to pull her out in time.
— Why didn’t you tell me anything? Sofia whispered.
— Because you were afraid of me, he replied. — If I had told you that I was watching over you every night, you would have assumed the worst. I wanted to take you to a doctor today.
That same day, Sofia contacted a doctor. After the consultation, it turned out that the episodes could have been linked to her sleeping medication, especially under severe stress. Her treatment was changed, and the pills after which the sleepwalking began were discontinued under a specialist’s supervision.
After a few weeks, the episodes stopped.
