At the age of 80, like a foolish young girl, I believed in love again and married a 20-year-old man who spent all day swearing that he loved me. But during our honeymoon, he deliberately pushed me off the yacht, hoping to get rid of me forever, without even imagining what I would do in return 😱

After my husband died, I lived alone for almost ten years. I had money, a large house, several apartments, trips, and everything many people dream of, but every evening I still came back to empty rooms.

At first, loneliness did not bother me. I met with friends, went on vacations, did charity work, and told everyone that I was perfectly happy on my own.

Then he appeared.

We met completely by chance at a charity event. A young, handsome, attentive man came over to help me down the stairs, and then spent almost the entire evening talking to me.

I immediately noticed the age difference and even joked:

— You probably find it more interesting to talk to girls your own age.

He only smiled.

— I’m interested in the person, not the number in their passport.

After that, he started texting me every day. He brought me flowers, invited me to dinner, came over simply because he missed me, and constantly repeated that he felt happy by my side.

When our relationship became serious, I tried several times to end it.

— In ten years, I’ll be ninety and you’ll only be thirty, — I told him one day. — You’ll regret it later.

He took my hands and replied:

— I don’t care how old you’ll be. I want to be with you.

A few months later, he proposed to me.

Many people I knew tried to talk me out of it. Some said he only wanted my money, others openly called me crazy, but I listened to no one.

I wanted to feel loved at least one more time in my life.

After the wedding, he suggested an unusual honeymoon.

— Let’s not stay in a hotel, — he said. — Let’s rent a yacht and spend a few days alone together at sea.

The idea seemed wonderful to me. The yacht was luxurious, the weather was beautiful, and the first two days truly felt like a fairy tale.

We had breakfast on deck, watched sunsets, listened to music, and in the evenings he held me in his arms and said he had never been so happy.

On the third day, everything changed. We had sailed quite far from the shore. In the morning, he said he wanted to show me a beautiful place where the water was especially clear.

I walked over to the railing and leaned forward.

— Look down, — he said behind me.

I did not even have time to turn around. His hands suddenly struck me hard in the back. I flew over the railing and fell into the icy water.

When I lifted my head, the first thing I saw was his face. He stood on the deck and looked at me completely calmly.

— Help me! — I screamed.

He said nothing. A few seconds later, he started the engine. That was when I realized it had not been an accident.

— You said you loved me!

He looked down and said coldly:

— I’m sorry.

Then the yacht began to move away. I screamed until I had no strength left, but after a few minutes, all that remained of it was a tiny white dot on the horizon.

He was sure he had gotten rid of me. But “my husband” could not even imagine how his cruel act would end 😨😯 The continuation of the story can be found in the first comment 👇👇

But there was one detail he did not know.

Many years earlier, my first husband had been into sailing, and we spent almost every summer on the water. He made sure I learned how to swim in the sea, stay afloat for hours, and use emergency rescue equipment.

Before the trip, out of old habit, I had noticed a small emergency life raft attached to the outside of the hull.

When my husband pushed me, the yacht continued moving very slowly for a few more seconds. I managed to grab a rope hanging near the stern.

He did not notice. I held on with the last of my strength as the yacht picked up speed, then managed to reach the emergency raft mechanism and pulled the handle.

The inflatable raft opened right there in the water. A few hours later, a small fishing boat spotted me. By the time I returned to shore, the police were already looking for me.

My young husband had told everyone that I had supposedly fallen overboard on my own during the trip and that he had spent several hours trying to find me. I decided not to tell him anything.

I asked the police not to tell him that I had been found alive.

That same evening, he returned to our house.

He probably thought that all my wealth would soon become his.

He opened the door, walked into the living room, and saw the table set for dinner. There were two plates, a bottle of wine, and our wedding photograph on the table. And across from it, I was sitting there.

He stopped so abruptly as if he had seen a ghost. For several seconds, he simply stared at me, unable to say a single word.

I poured myself some water and calmly said:

— You always said that age did not matter to you. It’s just a shame you forgot one thing: I didn’t live to be eighty because I was always lucky.

At that moment, the door behind him opened. Two police officers entered the house.
