Every time her son brought a girl home to meet his mother, the woman dumped a bucket of venomous snakes over her future daughter-in-law’s head to test her; but no one could have imagined how one of those meetings would end 😨
Michael was twenty-seven years old, and over the past few years, he had brought home three girls with whom he intended to build serious relationships. But none of them stayed by his side for long.
The reason was his mother, Margaret.
After her husband’s death, the woman lived alone in a large old house and was incredibly attached to her only son. She constantly repeated that Michael needed a very special woman by his side.
But simply meeting the girls wasn’t enough for Margaret.
She had kept snakes for many years. She knew their behavior extremely well and had even set up a separate room for them. Some of her pets were dangerous species, so Michael had learned from childhood never to enter that room without his mother’s permission.
One day, Margaret came up with her own way of testing her son’s girlfriends.
When Michael brought his first girlfriend home, everything started completely normally. Margaret prepared dinner, smiled, and asked questions about her work and family. Then she suddenly left the room and returned carrying a large plastic basin with several snakes writhing inside.
She approached the girl from behind and suddenly dumped the snakes right onto her.
The girl screamed so loudly that even the neighbors heard her. A few seconds later, she ran out of the house and never answered Michael again.
Margaret simply shrugged.
“She only thinks about herself. She didn’t even check whether you were okay.”
Almost the same thing happened with the second girl. She froze in terror and then started crying. The third tried to push the snakes away with her hands and accidentally almost stepped on one of them.
After that, Michael demanded that his mother stop these strange tests.
But Margaret was convinced she was doing the right thing.
A few months later, Michael met Anna.
She was very different from his previous girlfriends. Anna was calm, a little shy, and never tried to impress anyone. When Michael told her about his mother’s difficult personality, the girl simply smiled and said she would try to become friends with her.
On Sunday, they went to Margaret’s house.
For the first half hour, everything went surprisingly well.
Anna helped set the table, complimented the pie, and listened attentively to stories about Michael’s childhood. Even Margaret smiled several times.
Michael was already beginning to think that his mother had finally given up her insane habit.
But then Margaret silently stood up and walked into another room.
A minute later, she returned carrying a large basin.
Several snakes were moving inside.
Michael immediately realized what was happening.
“Mom, don’t.”
But Margaret seemed not to hear him.
She slowly approached the couch and stopped directly behind Anna.

Margaret lifted the basin even higher and was about to turn it over when Anna suddenly said:
“Please, don’t do that.”
Margaret froze.
Anna slowly turned her head.
She didn’t scream or jump up. For several seconds, the girl carefully studied the snakes, then calmly stood up from the couch.
“Do you know a lot about snakes?” she asked.
Margaret nodded in surprise.
Anna stepped closer and carefully looked inside the basin.
Suddenly, her expression changed.
“Put it on the floor. Slowly.”
This time, there was no calmness in her voice.
Margaret was confused, but she obeyed.
Anna crouched beside the basin and pointed at one of the snakes.
“It’s injured.”
At first, Margaret didn’t believe her. But when she looked more closely, she noticed an injury on the body of one of her favorite snakes.
It turned out that the animal had indeed been injured while being moved into the basin.
And then something came to light that even Michael didn’t know.
Anna’s father had worked with exotic animals for many years, and she had helped him since childhood, so she knew exactly how to handle snakes. That was why she had immediately understood what was happening.
But instead of being proud of her courage, Anna looked at Margaret and said:
“If you truly love these animals, you would never throw them at people just to test them. They can get hurt just as badly as a person can.”
The room fell silent.
For the first time in many years, someone hadn’t run away from Margaret’s test, hadn’t screamed, and hadn’t tried to win her approval.
Anna had simply told her the truth.
But the most unexpected thing happened a few minutes later.
Anna carefully helped move the injured snake into a separate box and explained that it needed to be taken to a specialist immediately. Then she picked up her bag and headed toward the door.
Michael rushed after her.
He was certain that after what had happened, Anna would never come back to that house again.
But the girl stopped and said:
“I’m not leaving you. I’m going with your mother to save the snake.”
For the first time that evening, Margaret was speechless.
A few hours later, they returned home. The animal was fine.
That evening, Margaret personally carried the empty plastic basin outside and threw it into the trash.
She never put anyone through one of her tests again.
