Right after our wedding, I decided to surprise my husband and hid under the bed while he was away; A few minutes later, a stranger walked into the room, and when I realized why he had come on our very first wedding night, I froze in terror… 😨
On our wedding night, I wanted to do something unusual. I quietly crawled under the bed in our hotel room, planning to surprise and scare my husband. I was sure that within a few minutes we would both be laughing at my silly idea and remembering that evening for years to come.
There was barely any room under the bed. My long wedding dress kept catching its lace on the wooden slats, and the cold floor quickly made me shiver. I lay perfectly still, trying not to move, listening carefully to every sound outside the door.
I imagined Daniel walking into the room, wondering where I was, starting to look for me, and then seeing me suddenly crawl out of my hiding place. It all seemed so harmless.
A few minutes later, the door really opened.
I was just about to jump out, but I almost immediately realized I had made a mistake.
The footsteps were far too heavy.
They weren’t my husband’s footsteps.
Through the narrow gap between the bedspread and the floor, I saw a pair of expensive black shoes. The stranger slowly walked over to the bed and sat down directly above me.
I felt my heart pounding so loudly that I was sure he could hear it.
The man pulled out his phone and called someone.
— Everything’s quiet. There’s no one in the room yet, the stranger said softly.
I froze, afraid to even take a breath.
I could never have imagined what I was about to hear next… 😨😲 Continued in the first comment 👇👇
I carefully looked through the small gap and immediately recognized the man.
It was Mark, my husband’s business partner. They had worked together for several years, and Daniel trusted him completely.
— Everything is going according to plan, Mark said calmly into the phone. — The documents are already in the safe. Now we just need to get him to sign them.
Someone answered on the other end of the line.
— Don’t worry. After tonight, the company will belong to us. He’ll sign everything himself.
A chill ran through my entire body.
He wasn’t planning to kill anyone.
But now I understood that they were preparing something far more cunning.
— As soon as he signs the documents, we’ll immediately transfer the money to overseas accounts. Tomorrow morning, the police will receive an anonymous report of financial fraud. Everyone will believe that he stole the money from his own company.
Mark smirked.
— By the time he’s trying to prove his innocence, we’ll already be gone.
He slipped the phone back into his pocket, took one last careful look around the room, and walked out.
For several seconds, I couldn’t move.
Then I quickly crawled out from under the bed and immediately called Daniel, telling him not to come back to the room under any circumstances.
Twenty minutes later, we were with the hotel’s security team. They reviewed the surveillance footage, which clearly showed Mark entering our room using his electronic key card.
Later, it was discovered that he had been forging financial documents for months and planned to shift all the blame onto my husband.
If I hadn’t decided to hide under the bed that evening as part of a silly prank, we never would have uncovered his plan until it was far too late.
