This old cupboard was in very bad condition, so we decided to restore it. Unfortunately, the top part was already beyond saving, so we had to part with it 🤔.
From the bottom part, we made a very stylish dresser for the living room. The result was shown in the first comment 👇👇
This cupboard had been in our house as long as I can remember. Massive, dark, creaky – it seemed more like a shadow from the past than a piece of furniture.
Time had not been kind to it: the top part had long split, the glass was broken, and the wooden shelves had sagged under the weight of years and memories.
One day, while sorting through old things, we decided: it was time to give it a second life. Unfortunately, the top part couldn’t be saved – we said goodbye to it with sadness, but without regret.
The remaining bottom section was still strong and sturdy – as if it had been waiting for a chance to be useful again.
We carefully cleaned the surface, filled the cracks, and chose a new life for it – a soft blue, slightly grayish hue, both durable and stylish.
Once the paint was applied, the old furniture transformed: it seemed as if it had shed its old, worn-out coat and put on something modern and light.
Even the old handles, which had once seemed insignificant, came to life anew – now they highlighted the character of the updated dresser.
Thus, the old cupboard, which recently seemed forgotten and almost discarded, became a real decoration in the room. It still holds things, but now – with a new story and a new meaning.
