Virsaviya’s condition left her heart without the usual protection of a rib cage or abdominal muscles. During Dari’s pregnancy, doctors warned her that the baby might not survive the birth or even make it to full term.

Instead of being overwhelmed by concern, Dari proudly shares images of Virsaviya on Instagram, showcasing her daughter’s unique condition. These photos capture Virsaviya in various settings and poses, highlighting her vibrant personality.

She enjoys dancing, drawing, horseback riding, and listening to Beyoncé. Although she has limitations on running, Virsaviya stays active and wears soft clothing to shield her exposed heart.

“The doctors said she wouldn’t live through the first day, yet here she is at fourteen,” says Dari. Despite predictions that Virsaviya might not live past 30, her mother is optimistic, believing that her daughter will continue to defy all odds.

Virsaviya credits her survival to her mother’s love and support rather than any miracle. “It’s not really a miracle, but my mother’s love,” she explains. “My mother believed in me; I think that’s what made the difference.”

Virsaviya has Cantrell’s pentalogy, a condition so rare that only one in a million births is affected. Surprisingly, her condition causes her no pain and doesn’t restrict her daily activities. However, she must be very cautious to avoid chest injuries, as her heart is exposed just beneath the skin. To protect her heart, she wears a specially designed chest cover.

“Living with her heart outside her chest is challenging because it is so exposed and delicate,” Dari notes. “There are times when Virsaviya and I are anxious about how vulnerable it is.”

Despite the considerable risks, Virsaviya is determined not to let her condition hold her back. “Sometimes it’s tough when my oxygen levels drop and I feel dizzy, but I love staying active, singing, and dancing with friends,” she says.

Virsaviya’s story continues to inspire many on Instagram, where her followers are moved by her strength and resilience. “My heart is different, but that makes me unique, and I love it,” she adds. With just 250 known cases of Cantrell’s pentalogy worldwide, Virsaviya refuses to let the rarity of her condition stop her. She and her family stay positive, choosing to focus on the joy and hope in their lives.
