A son concerned for his retired mother’s well-being decided to buy a small apartment near him and renovate it in an economical yet elegant way.
Initially, the apartment was in very poor condition, requiring the complete removal of old coverings before renovations could begin. Getting rid of the paint on the ceilings proved extremely difficult, necessitating unsuccessful attempts with electric and manual tools, and ultimately the use of powerful chemicals to clean the concrete slab.
In the hallway and kitchen, ceramic tile was installed, while parquet flooring was laid in the main room, with the joint between the two sealed with silicone caulk. The kitchen, with access to the balcony, was completely renovated with custom-made furniture. Since the gas had been cut off in the kitchen, they decided not to install a door.
In the bathroom, the stall was removed, allowing for an expansion of the space by 20 cm and the installation of a standard 60 cm wide sink cabinet. The ceiling height was unified with the rest of the apartment, measuring 2.5 meters. The balcony was glazed and decorated in the same style and color as the rest of the apartment.
