This man built his house out of an airplane.
Bruce Campbell, a 64-year-old retired electrical engineer, has always had a creative spirit. In his youth, he purchased ten acres of forest near Hillsboro, Oregon, for about $23,000, with a clear plan in mind: to turn an old airplane fuselage into a unique living space.

Campbell has always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together to give them new life. His initial idea was to build a house from abandoned cargo planes. However, after learning that Joanne Ussery, a hairdresser from Mississippi, had already transformed a Boeing 727 into a home, he changed his plans.
Ussery, after her house was destroyed by a fire, chose to live in a plane parked near a river, which inspired Campbell to refine his own project.
While living in an airplane may not be for everyone, Campbell’s project is remarkable. His initiative, as original as it is ambitious, is a true success!
