Typically, elderly people seek to enjoy life, as they have worked for a long time and need to rest and have fun.
A grandfather stated on Reddit that he loved his grandson but he was not a daycare and had his own life.
The man wrote that his daughter needed to understand that his time at home had a price and if she wanted him to care for her child, she should pay him the requested amount.
So, our hero explained online that he had a 28-year-old daughter with a one-year-old baby.
His daughter was soon going to return to work, five days a week, between seven and eight hours a day.
She therefore asked her father if he could take care of her child at least three days a week.
But the father explained that he did not agree easily. He asked her to pay him $12 an hour.
“I love my grandson, but I am not a daycare. It’s my free time, I have my own life,” he said.
Of course, users’ opinions were divided.
Demanding compensation to take care of one’s own grandson seemed excessive to many.
But others agreed with him. They believed that the elderly man had the right to spend his time as he wished.
