They were rescuers and police officers.
Shortly before dawn, an elderly shepherd had contacted the police and reported seeing a man in a wedding suit running out of the forest alone late at night, covered in mud and visibly nervous. His behavior seemed so suspicious that the shepherd decided to call the police immediately.
When the rescuers descended into the cave, they were astonished to find Emilia alive.
But something else surprised them even more.
The snakes began calmly crawling aside, as though they were clearing the way for the rescuers themselves.
Emilia was brought back to the surface and taken to the hospital.
Soon afterward, the police arrested Daniel.
