It all began on an ordinary day on a country road. A young woman was driving a black car when the flashing lights of a patrol vehicle suddenly appeared behind her. She calmly pulled over to the side of the road, rolled down the window, and waited for the officer to approach.
A heavyset, balding traffic officer slowly walked up to the car. He gave the woman a quick glance and lazily held out his hand.
— Documents.
Without saying a word, she handed him her driver’s license and the vehicle registration certificate. The officer studied the documents for a long time, even though he could not find any violation.
— Do you know why I stopped you? he asked with a smug smile.
— No. And honestly, I would like to know that too.
The officer smirked.
— Document check.
The young woman looked calmly into his eyes.
— There must be a reason for a check. You do not have the right to stop a vehicle for no reason.
Those words immediately ruined his mood. He had expected to find a nervous female driver who would begin making excuses, but instead, he received a calm and confident response.
For several seconds, he silently stared at her, then suddenly smiled.

The young woman’s expression did not change.

After those words, his behavior changed abruptly. His face became angry and his voice grew harsh.

— Now you can stand here until morning for all I care, he said with a mocking grin. — Without a license, you’re not going anywhere.
For several seconds, there was complete silence.

The young woman calmly closed the folder and looked him straight in the eyes.
— Now I think you understand why I told you from the beginning that you were breaking the law.
