A woman got lost during a tour and accidentally ended up deep inside a cave, where she found strange giant eggs. She examined the unusual discovery for a long time, never suspecting who the eggs belonged to or what would happen to her just a few minutes later 😨
That day, 62-year-old Emma went on a mountain tour with a small group of tourists. The route was considered safe: several hours of walking along a trail, a stop near a waterfall, and then a return to the bus.
Emma had traveled a lot and was not afraid of such walks at all. So when the group stopped near a small gorge, she decided to take a few photos.
She walked only a few meters away.
At least, that was what she thought.
When Emma lowered her phone and looked up, the other tourists were nowhere to be seen. She called out to the guide, but no one answered.
At first, she was not afraid. Emma was sure that the group was nearby, so she continued along the path.
A few minutes later, the trail suddenly split in two. The woman stopped. She did not remember this place at all.
Emma tried to go back, but soon realized that she had completely lost her sense of direction. Her phone had no signal, and the battery was down to only a few percent.
Then it started to rain.
The woman noticed a narrow passage between the rocks and decided to hide there until the rain stopped. She was sure it was only a small shelter, but after walking a few meters, she discovered a real entrance to a cave.
Inside, it was dry and warm. The woman turned on the small flashlight she always carried in her backpack and decided to wait for a while.
But suddenly, somewhere ahead, she heard the sound of water.
Emma thought there might be another exit inside and carefully followed the sound.
The cave became deeper and deeper. Huge rock formations hung from the ceiling, wet stones lay under her feet, and the walls became narrower and narrower.
After a few minutes, Emma already regretted going farther.
She turned around to go back, but suddenly the beam of her flashlight illuminated something unusual right in front of her.
There was a large nest on the ground.
And inside it lay seven huge eggs. Emma froze.
Each egg was almost twice as large as an ordinary chicken egg. The shells had a strange greenish-brown color and were covered with dark patterns.
The woman had never seen anything like it before.
She crouched beside the nest and shone her flashlight on one of the eggs.
— What are you?.. — she whispered quietly.
At first, Emma thought they were the eggs of some large bird, but another question immediately came to her mind: how could a bird build a nest so deep underground?
The woman carefully ran her finger over the shell. It was warm. Emma quickly pulled her hand back. That meant the eggs were alive.
At that moment, one of them moved slightly.
The woman stepped back in surprise. A soft tapping sound came from inside.
A few seconds later, the second egg began tapping too. Then the third. The woman had no idea who the eggs belonged to or what would happen to her just a few minutes later 😱😳 The continuation of the story can be found in the first comment 👇👇
Emma was about to leave when she suddenly heard a strange sound behind her. It was as if someone was slowly crawling over the wet stones.
The woman pointed her flashlight into the darkness. At first, she saw nothing. Then, a few meters away from her, a huge head appeared.
Emma nearly screamed. It was a giant snake.
Its body was almost as thick as an adult’s leg, and it was impossible to determine its length because most of the snake remained in the darkness.
Now Emma understood everything. The eggs belonged to it. The snake was slowly approaching, blocking the only way back.
Emma froze, afraid to take even a single step. She remembered the guide’s words, who had warned the tourists that morning that large pythons could be found in the mountains, but they usually avoided people.
The woman slowly lowered the flashlight and began moving away from the nest.
The snake did not attack her. It simply watched her. Emma understood that the animal was protecting its clutch.
She took a few more steps to the side and accidentally noticed a narrow crack between the rocks. Cold air was coming from it. Another exit.
The woman slowly moved toward it.
But at that moment, one of the eggs cracked. The snake suddenly turned toward the nest.
Emma used the moment and squeezed between the rocks.
The crack was so narrow that the huge snake physically could not follow her.
A few minutes later, Emma saw daylight.
She emerged outside in a completely different place, almost a kilometer away from the tourist trail.
Rescuers found her two hours later.
When Emma told them about the cave and showed the photos of the eggs she had taken on her phone, the staff of the nature park did not believe her at first.
The next day, specialists were sent there.
It turned out that Emma had accidentally discovered a previously unknown breeding site of a large reticulated python, which had probably been illegally brought into the region many years earlier and had managed to survive in the system of warm underground caves.
