A young woman mistook her taxi during a heavy evening rainstorm and accidentally got into the car of the most dangerous people in the city, but she could not even imagine what would happen to her that night 😨
The workday ended much later than usual. A young secretary named Emma was almost alone in the huge office building. Thunder roared outside, and the heavy rain flooded the streets so badly that it was impossible to see even the building next door.
When Emma finally turned off her computer, it was almost ten in the evening. She ordered a taxi, put on her coat, and hurried toward the exit.
The app informed her that a black car was waiting for her. At that very moment, an expensive car of the same color stopped near the entrance.
Emma covered her head with her bag, ran through the rain, and quickly got into the back seat.
— Good evening. Green Street, number twenty-four, she said tiredly without even looking at the driver.
The man behind the wheel slowly turned his head and looked at the girl strangely through the rearview mirror.
— Are you sure you are supposed to get in here? he asked.
— Yes, of course. I’m very tired, so please drive faster.
The driver did not answer. He remained sitting there as if he were waiting for someone.
Emma took out her phone and only then noticed that her real taxi had stopped on the other side of the street. She wanted to apologize and get out, but at that moment the car doors opened on both sides at once.
A young blond man sat down to her left, while a tall brunette in a black T-shirt took a seat to her right. Both men were soaked from the rain, but they behaved so calmly as if the presence of a strange girl in their car did not surprise them at all.
Emma looked at one of them, then at the other, and felt her heart stop.
She recognized those men immediately.
They were the Moretti brothers — the most influential and dangerous people in the city. They owned construction companies, hotels, restaurants, and dozens of expensive buildings. Emma worked as a secretary at one of their companies.
The most terrible stories were told about the brothers. People feared the older brother, Daniel Moretti, the most. They said he never forgave betrayal and could find anyone, even if they hid on the other side of the world.
The blond brother, Alex, looked at the terrified girl with interest.
— Oh, and who left this beauty in our car?
— I’m sorry, it was an accident! Emma said quickly. — I mistook your car for my taxi. I’m leaving right now.
She reached for the door handle, but Alex did not move. Daniel was sitting on the other side, so getting out was impossible.
— Please let me go, the girl begged in a trembling voice. — I didn’t see anything, and I won’t tell anyone about our meeting.
Daniel looked at her for a long time and very carefully. Emma felt even worse. It was exactly that cold look people usually described when they had the misfortune of meeting him in person.
Then the man turned his eyes toward the driver.
— Drive.
The car started moving.
— Where are you taking me? Emma asked in horror.
No one answered.
Terrified, the girl did not understand what was happening, but she had no idea how that night would end for her or what kind of people she had just become involved with. 😱😮 You can find the continuation of the story in the first comment 👇👇
The girl held her phone tightly, but she did not dare call for help. Alex was sitting too close to her, and Daniel never took his eyes off her. Dark streets flooded by rain passed outside the window.
— I really got in here by accident, Emma said again. — If you want, I can pay for the ride. Just please let me go.
Alex suddenly began to laugh.
— Daniel, she thinks we kidnapped her.
— Didn’t you? the girl asked fearfully.
— No, the brunette replied calmly. — We’re taking you home.
Emma froze and looked out the window. Only then did she realize that the car was really heading toward her neighborhood.
— How do you know where I live?
— You told the driver the address yourself when you got in, Daniel reminded her.
Alex smiled again, but the older brother continued looking at the girl with complete seriousness. He was surprised that, despite her fear, she tried to stay calm and was even ready to argue with them.
— Do you work at our company? he asked.
Emma nodded.
— I’m a secretary in the finance department.
— Why are you going home so late?
— My boss gave me extra work.
Daniel’s expression changed immediately.
— Does he often make you stay alone until late at night?
— Sometimes.
The man said nothing, but Emma understood from his look that her boss would have a very unpleasant conversation the next morning.
A few minutes later, the car stopped outside her house. The driver got out first and opened the door. Emma was already about to run away, but Daniel took off the jacket that was lying beside him and handed it to her.
— It’s raining heavily outside.
— You don’t have to, I’ll get inside quickly.
— Take it, he said briefly in a tone that made it impossible to argue.
Emma put the jacket over her shoulders and got out of the car. Before closing the door, she turned around.
— Thank you for bringing me home.
— Next time, look first at whose car you are getting into, Daniel replied.
The car drove away, and Emma remained under the canopy for a few more seconds. She did not know that inside the car, Alex was looking at his brother with a smile.
— Don’t even think about saying you didn’t like her. I saw the way you looked at her.
Daniel did not answer. He simply kept looking through the rear window until the girl disappeared completely into the building.
The next morning, Emma came to work with the jacket in her hands. She planned to return it through security, but Daniel’s personal assistant was already waiting for her near the entrance.
— Mr. Moretti asked you to come up to see him.
Emma’s knees began to shake. She thought they were going to fire her because of her mistake the night before.
However, when the girl entered the huge office on the top floor, Daniel was standing by the window with two cups of coffee.
— Did you want to see me?
The man turned around and smiled at her for the first time.
— Yes. I decided to check whether you would mistake my office for another one today.
Emma understood that he was joking and smiled too.
After that evening, Daniel found more and more reasons to come down to the finance department. Sometimes he asked Emma to bring documents that he could have received from any other employee. Sometimes he stopped by her desk and asked whether she had ordered a taxi.
A few weeks later, heavy rain started again near the office. When Emma went outside, the familiar black car was standing by the entrance, and Daniel was waiting for her beside it.
— This time, I definitely didn’t order a taxi, the girl said with a smile.
— I know, he replied, opening the door for her. — Today, I came to pick you up myself.
Emma did not yet know where this ride would take them. But Daniel already understood that the stranger who had once accidentally gotten into the wrong car had captured his heart forever.
