To get rid of their father, his own children abandoned him in the middle of a remote forest and simply drove away; but they could never have imagined what would happen to them very soon… 😮

Richard had been living alone ever since his wife passed away. He was seventy-eight years old, his legs hurt more and more every day, and without his children’s help, he could hardly leave the house. He never complained and always said he didn’t want to become a burden to them.

One morning, his son Daniel and his daughter Emma came to visit him.

“Dad, get ready,” Daniel said with a smile. “We’ve decided to take you out into nature. It’s been a long time since you’ve been in the woods, and the fresh air will do you good.”

Richard was surprised but genuinely happy.

“Really? It’s been so long since we’ve gone anywhere together.”

He slowly put on his old jacket, picked up his walking cane, and got into the car. During the entire drive, he reminisced about the days when he taught his children how to build a campfire, gather mushrooms, and not be afraid of spending the night in the forest. He spoke with a smile, but his children answered only briefly and remained silent most of the trip.

After a while, the paved road ended. The car turned onto a narrow forest road surrounded by tall pine trees, with no one else in sight.

Richard looked out the window and quietly asked,

“Where are we?”

“You’ll see,” Daniel replied coldly.

A few minutes later, the car stopped beside an old tree.

Daniel got out first and opened the door.

“Dad, step out for a minute.”

Richard slowly climbed out, leaning on his cane.

“What a beautiful place… But why did we come here?”

Emma looked away, while Daniel quickly got back behind the wheel.

“I’m sorry… but we can’t do this anymore.”

At first, the old man didn’t even understand what he meant.

“What do you mean?”

But the car had already started moving.

“Daniel… Wait… Where are you going?!”

He took a few uncertain steps after the car, but quickly stopped. The vehicle was already picking up speed.

“My children… Don’t leave… Please…”

But neither of them even looked back. Within seconds, the car disappeared around the bend.

Richard slowly sat down beside a large tree. He covered his face with one hand and began to cry. He had endured many hardships throughout his life, but he had never imagined that one day his own children would leave him alone in the middle of a remote forest.

However, something happened very soon afterward that made his children deeply regret their inhuman act. 😱😧 You can find the rest of the story in the first comment. 👇👇

About forty minutes passed.

Complete silence filled the forest. Only the wind could be heard rustling through the pine trees.

Suddenly, the sound of an engine echoed in the distance.

An old SUV was driving down the forest road. It stopped nearby, and a man in his fifties wearing a forest ranger’s uniform stepped out.

He immediately noticed the elderly man.

“Sir, what happened? Why are you here all alone?”

Richard slowly raised his head.

“My children… told me to step out for a minute… and then they just drove away…”

The ranger looked at him silently for a few seconds before calmly saying,

“You can’t stay here. Come with me.”

An hour later, Richard was sitting inside a small cabin in the woods with a mug of hot tea in his hands. Gradually, he told the ranger everything that had happened.

The ranger listened carefully and then suddenly asked,

“Is your name Richard Walker?”

The old man looked at him in surprise.

“Yes… How do you know my name?”

The man smiled.

“Thirty years ago, I was a ten-year-old boy who got lost in this very forest. People searched for me for almost an entire day. It was you who found me and carried me back to the road. I’ve never forgotten the man who saved my life.”

Richard looked at him carefully and slowly remembered the frightened little boy he had indeed found during a heavy rainstorm many years ago.

The ranger shook his hand firmly.

“You saved my life back then. Now it’s my turn to help you.”

The following day, he helped Richard contact a lawyer.

After a long conversation, the elderly man made a decision he had been postponing for years.

He officially transferred all of his savings, his house, and his land to a charitable foundation that helped lonely elderly people.

“My children have already made their choice,” Richard said calmly. “Now it’s time for me to make mine.”

Several months passed.

When Daniel and Emma came to visit their father, they were convinced they could still fix everything.

“Dad, we made a mistake… Let’s forget everything and start over.”

Richard looked at them calmly.

“We could have started over the day you decided to leave me alone in the forest.”

Daniel lowered his head.

“We never thought it would end like this…”

The old man smiled sadly.

“That was your biggest mistake.”

Without saying a word, he handed them copies of the documents.

Daniel quickly glanced through the pages and turned pale.

“You… You transferred everything?”

“Yes.”

“But why?”

Richard calmly looked at both of his children.

“Because strangers reached out to help me when my own family turned their backs on me. That means they deserved my gratitude far more than you did.”

With those words, he slowly closed the door.
