Charlie Worgan, 27, stands just 121 cm tall. She suffers from a condition known as “dwarfism.” Her husband, Cullen, has a different form of dwarfism. Due to this, doctors warned the couple about the possible consequences if they decided to have children. Despite this, they now have three children.
Charlie was diagnosed with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism, while Cullen was diagnosed with hypochondroplasia, which is rarer.
Given that their conditions carry multiple risks beyond just short stature, they were cautioned before making the decision to start a family.
Doctors explained that they had only a 25% chance of having a child with average height and the same chance of having a child who might not survive.
In 2015, Charlie became pregnant with their first child. That same year, they welcomed their daughter, Tilba. Like her mother, she was born with achondroplasia.
After their daughter was born, the family created an Instagram account to share their life, including all the ups and downs.
Tilba grew up to be a happy and energetic girl who eventually charmed everyone around her. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The couple had to work hard to raise Tilba in a way that shielded her from the negativity of haters.
Despite the doctors’ warnings, the couple decided to have another child, who was also diagnosed with the same condition as the mother.
The family now has over 300,000 followers, and Charlie uses the page to challenge prejudices about short stature and support others with similar issues.
“It’s an emotional rollercoaster, filled with moments of love and happiness. We wanted to have more children, and I became pregnant for the third time. I wanted to experience pregnancy again, enduring the pain, nausea, and fainting, as if I were 17 once more,” the happy mother shared.
