š± š± An exceptional baby weighing 1ļøā£6ļøā£ pounds made headlines in 1983, but wait until you see him today. š± The photos are in the comments.
Generally, doctors consider a baby to be a large fetus if it weighs between 4 and 5 kilograms at birth. However, height is not taken into account, and some babies can also measure up to 56 cm at birth. Statistically, tall children represent about 5 to 10% of all pregnancies.
In 1983, Patricia Clarke, then 24 years old, had a feeling that her future child would be quite large. She had a family history of tallness, having already had one child. However, the size of the baby she was expecting was completely unexpected.
Kevin Robert Clark was born to Patricia, weighing over 16 pounds, making him a colossal newborn. He was the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital and possibly in all of New Jersey at that time. His parents were relieved to find that Kevin was in excellent health, even though he could not fit into a standard crib and his baby clothes were too small for him.
As expected, his height was immediately noticeable. His fame skyrocketed when he appeared on broadcasts such as “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America.” Unfortunately, this wasn’t the last time he would draw attention. According to the New York Post, at the age of 12, Kevin was already 5 feet 7 inches tall. By the time he entered middle school, he had reached 6 feet, and he continued to grow afterward. Kevin told the Post, “Not a day goes by without someone asking me how tall I am.”
