After work, an exhausted nurse accidentally got into the car of the most dangerous mafia boss in the city and fell asleep in the back seat. But what the mob boss did when he saw the stranger left everyone completely shocked. 😱

Anna finished her shift close to midnight. She had spent the last twelve hours on her feet, helping doctors in an overcrowded ward. First, several victims of a car accident were brought in. Then an elderly patient’s condition suddenly worsened, and toward the end of her shift, Anna had to comfort a little girl who was terrified of surgery and refused to let go of her hand.

When Anna finally left the hospital, she felt as though she could barely stand. She did not even have the strength to change her clothes, so she simply put a light-colored jacket over her nursing uniform, tied up her hair, and ordered a taxi.

It was cold and dark outside. Several black cars were parked near the hospital entrance, and a little farther away, another car stopped. Anna did not even bother to check its license plate. When she saw that the back door was unlocked, she assumed it was her taxi, quickly got inside, and tiredly gave her address.

“Twenty-four Riverside Street,” she said quietly.

The driver slowly turned his head but did not answer. A large man in a dark suit was sitting in the front passenger seat. He looked at Anna in surprise, but she had already closed her eyes.

“I’m sorry, I’m very tired today,” she whispered. “Please wake me when we arrive.”

A few seconds later, Anna fell asleep.

The men in the front exchanged glances. The car did not belong to a taxi service. It belonged to Victor Moretti, a man whose name even powerful businessmen and high-ranking officials were afraid to say aloud. He was considered the most dangerous man in the city. People said that he never forgave mistakes, tolerated no disobedience, and could destroy someone simply for being in the wrong place.

That evening, the driver and bodyguards had come to the hospital to pick Victor up after a secret meeting with one of the doctors. While the mafia boss was still inside, no one expected an unknown nurse to calmly get into his car and fall asleep in the back seat.

“What should we do?” the driver asked quietly.

“Don’t touch her,” the bodyguard replied. “Let the boss decide.”

A minute later, the hospital doors opened, and Victor Moretti approached the car. The tall man in a black coat immediately noticed that his guards were behaving strangely.

“What happened?” he asked coldly.

No one dared to answer. One of the men simply opened the back door.

Victor saw Anna sleeping. She was sitting with her head resting against the window, and her jacket had slipped slightly from her shoulders. Her uniform still showed signs of the exhausting shift, and dark circles under her eyes revealed how tired she was.

“Who is she?” Victor asked.

“We don’t know, Mr. Moretti,” the driver replied. “She got into the car, gave us an address, and immediately fell asleep. She must have mistaken us for a taxi.”

Victor’s expression became even more serious.

“And you allowed a stranger to remain inside my car?”

The guards lowered their eyes. They understood perfectly well that such a mistake could cost them their jobs, and perhaps much more.

One of the men carefully reached toward Anna to wake her, but Victor stopped him.

“Don’t touch her.”

Everyone froze.

Then the mafia boss did something that made everyone freeze in horror. 😨😳

Victor sat down in the back seat beside the nurse. For several seconds, he studied her carefully, as though trying to remember where he had seen her face before. Then his gaze stopped on the small badge attached to her uniform.

“Anna Miller. Intensive Care Unit.”

After reading the name, Victor suddenly changed. His cold expression became tense, and his fingers slowly tightened around the handle of his cane.

“Drive to the address she gave you,” he ordered.

The driver could not believe his ears.

“Mr. Moretti, we have a meeting in twenty minutes.”

“I said take her home.”

The car began to move. It was so quiet inside that only the sleeping Anna’s breathing could be heard.

During the journey, she stirred several times in her sleep. At one point, her head tilted toward Victor, and she accidentally rested it against his shoulder. The bodyguard in the front seat turned pale. No one had ever dared to touch Victor Moretti, even by accident.

However, the mafia boss did not move away. He simply looked at the exhausted nurse’s face, took off his coat, and carefully covered her with it.

When the car reached the address she had given, the driver stopped in front of an old apartment building.

“We’re here,” he said quietly.

Victor was about to wake Anna, but at that moment she opened her eyes on her own. For several seconds, she stared sleepily ahead before noticing the man beside her.

“Who are you?” she asked in fright.

Anna quickly looked around and realized that the interior did not look anything like an ordinary taxi. Armed bodyguards were sitting in the car, and the man beside her was watching her with a heavy, attentive gaze.

“I’m sorry,” she said in confusion. “I think I got into the wrong car.”

“That’s right,” Victor replied calmly.

Anna turned pale. She was about to get out when she suddenly looked more closely at his face.

“Wait,” she said. “I know you.”

The bodyguards tensed, thinking that the young woman had recognized the infamous criminal.

But Anna unexpectedly said:

“You’re the father of the boy who was brought to our hospital three months ago.”

Victor did not answer.

Anna immediately remembered that night. A ten-year-old boy had been brought to the hospital with a serious injury. The doctors had almost no hope of saving him, but Anna remained beside him for hours, helped during the operation, and then stayed with him in the intensive care unit. The boy kept calling for his father, but the man never came to his bedside.

“His name was Leo,” Anna said quietly. “He kept asking whether you were coming.”

The car fell completely silent.

None of the bodyguards knew that Victor had had a son. After the boy’s death, the mafia boss had ordered every photograph removed from his house and had forbidden anyone from ever saying his name again.

“You were with him?” Victor finally asked.

“Until the very end,” Anna replied. “He was very frightened, so I held his hand. Before he fell asleep, he asked me to give you something.”

Anna opened her bag and began searching among medical gloves, keys, and documents. A few seconds later, she pulled out a small paper boat.

“For a long time, I didn’t know how to find you,” she said. “Leo made it on the morning before the operation. He asked me to give the boat to his father and tell him that he wasn’t angry with him.”

Victor’s hands trembled. He slowly took the small paper boat and stared at it for a long time without saying a word.

The bodyguards had never seen their boss like this before. The man everyone considered ruthless sat inside the dark car, barely holding back his tears.

“Why did you keep it?” he asked.

“Because I made a promise to a child,” Anna replied. “And I always keep the promises I make to my patients.”

Victor closed his eyes. That night, he really had not gone to see his son because he was hiding from his enemies and was afraid of bringing danger to the hospital. He convinced himself that he would have time to see Leo later, but the boy died before dawn.

Anna carefully opened the door.

“I’m sorry I got into your car. I was truly very tired.”

She stepped out, thanked the driver, and walked toward the entrance of the building.
